We’re looking after your super
The Queensland Local Government Superannuation Board (ABN 94 085 088 484) is responsible for managing LGsuper in the best interests of members.
From 1 July 2011 LGsuper merged with City Super and a transitional Board is in place until 30 June 2014 to allow continuity in oversight of the merger transition. The transitional Board is made up of four member representative Directors, three employer representative Directors (nominated by LGAQ Ltd), one employer representative nominated by Brisbane City Council and one independent director appointed by the Board.
The Chairman of the Board, Brian Roebig, is the independent director. The Board works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and his staff to ensure your financial future is looked after.
The next election for member representatives directors will be in 2014. Nominations for employer representatives will also be requested in 2014.

Brian Roebig OAM
Brian Roebig has over 30 years experience in superannuation and finance, with his previous roles including General Manager of National Mutual in Queensland, director of numerous finance and investment-related public companies, Director of South Bank Corporation and Chairman of ASX-listed First Australian Building Society (now part of Bendigo Bank). Brian holds a BA(Econ), and is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Insurance Institute. |

Noel Cass
Noel Cass has 40 years experience working in local government, including 35 years as a chief executive officer. Noel retired from his position as Chief Executive Officer of Jondaryan Shire Council in 2008. He holds formal qualifications in local government administration, accounting and environmental health. |

Fiona Connor
Fiona Connor was employed by LGsuper from 1990 to 1999. She holds a BBus(Public Sector Management), a Certificate in Governance Practice and Administration and a Diploma of Financial Services (Superannuation). Fiona is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Member of Chartered Secretaries Australia. |

Ron Curtis
Ron Curtis has been an employee of Brisbane City Council in the Industrial Relations section since 2002. His experience as a representative on superannuation fund boards spans back to 1988. Ron was first elected as a Member Trustee of City Super in 2005, and was re-elected in 2007. He became Chair of City Super in 2009. He has also served as Chair of the Investment Committee and the Claims Committee, as well as having been a member of the Administration and Contracts Committee of City Super. |

Peter Smith
Peter Smith was LGsuper's Chief Executive Officer from 1988 to 2006. Peter is a career superannuation professional, having held chief executive and other senior positions with public and private sector superannuation funds dating back to the early 1970s in industries ranging from public utilities (including electricity and local government in Queensland) to global mining and pharmaceutical companies. He has also been a consultant to the superannuation industry. Peter holds a Diploma of Financial Services, is a Fellow of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) and is a retired member of the National Institute of Accountants and a retired member and Senior Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute. |

Cr Paul Bell AM
Cr Paul Bell is President of the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) and the immediate past President of the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA). Paul is currently Deputy Mayor of the Central Highlands Regional Council and was Mayor of Emerald Shire Council from 1991 to 2000 (Councillor since 1985). His previous roles include Director of Ergon Energy and Queensland Rail. Paul is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a BBus(Admin). |

Louise Dudley
Louise Dudley is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU) and was formerly a director of City Super from 1 October 2007. Prior to QUU, Louise held several senior executive roles within Brisbane City Council, including Executive Manager, Water Retail, Director, Finance and Legal Water Transition Program, Chief Procurement Officer and Commercial Manager Information, Communication and Technology Division. Louise’s prior accounting experience included 17 years with leading accounting and advisory firm KPMG, and senior roles with PresCare. Louise is a Chartered Accountant with 27 years experience.She holds a BCom and Certificate of Superannuation Management. Louise is also a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. |

Cr Peter Taylor
Cr Peter Taylor is the former Mayor of Toowoomba Regional Council (2008 to 2012). He was previously Mayor (1994 to 2008) and Councillor (1976 to 1994) of Jondaryan Shire Council. Peter ran an agriculture business on the Darling Downs for 30 years. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds a Certificate of Development Practice and is studying toward a Masters of Development Practice. |

Cr Les Tyrell OAM
Cr Les Tyrell is the former Mayor of Townsville City Council (2008 to 2012), and was previously Mayor (1991 to 2008) and Councillor (1979 to 1991) of Thuringowa City Council. Previously he ran his own financial services consultancy business for 12 years and has a background in accounting and management. |
Removal of Directors
- Employer representative Directors may be removed by the Local Government Association of Queensland or Brisbane City Council.
- Member representative Directors cannot and must not be removed except pursuant to a ballot of members in which the majority of members vote in favour of such removal.
- An Independent Director (if any) is removed by a resolution of the Board passed by a two-thirds majority of all Board members.
